+Romantic Six-Prong Platinum Pastel Oval Sapphire Ring
My signature "Carved Bark Band" takes on an eclectic boho-antique form in this handmade six-prong platinum solitaire ring, made from post-consumer recycled platinum.
Many gemstone connoisseurs love deeply saturated stones, but I love the less saturated, pastel variety just as well. The sapphire featured in thissolid ring is a sweet, not often-seen pale periwinkle blue. Though the cut of the stone is relatively shallow, the sapphire is bright, glassy clear and seems to glow with an other worldly hue. It's a piece that I am hesitant to let go! But I know it's destined to adorn the hand of another loving fan.
This sapphirewas ethically sourced from Ceylon, Sri Lanka. It has undergone routine light heating for color and clarity enhancement, and measures just under 7.7x6mm. I prefer to purchase my gemstones through suppliers who care about the ethics in mining and gemstone production and also donate proceeds of sales to underprivileged communities in these mining areas.
This ring is currently a size6.25 and is fully resizable for a small fee. Please note, this item is non-refundable after it has been resized. Please allow one week for resizing.
This is not an elevated setting. The six-prong head is set into the band for a low profile. Wedding bands can stack against it with some gap, or we can create a custom curved wedding set to nest. The band is just a little under 2mm in width and is fully rounded for comfort. You will only find this ring here! It is my signature carved style, hand carved by myself in wax before it's cast into gold.

About Sapphire:
Sapphire is the birthstone for September. It is also a traditional gift for those celebrating 5th or 45th anniversaries.
Sapphires are often associated with loyalty and dignity and are a favorite gemstone for royalty. They come in a rainbow of colors from white, yellow, pinks, orange, greens, purple and blue, with the most valuable being a deep blue.
Most natural sapphires undergo heat treatment to improve their color and clarity. This industry-accepted practice results in a permanent enhancement and helps protect against accidental chipping or breakage.
Making a Difference:
Help fight climate change with this purchase! Trees are like the lungs of the planet...our "natural air purifiers." They breathe in carbon dioxide and breathe out oxygen. Additionally, they provide habitat for birds and other wildlife and play a vital role in our natural water cycle. Forests help regulate the water in the air through a process called transpiration. They absorb thousands of gallons of water into their roots. Excess water is then released through the leaves back into the air. For every purchase made, I donate one planted tree through Plant-It 2020. Small changes by individuals can make a difference in the fight against climate change. You will be reminded of your efforts each time you look down at your beautiful gold bark band.
